Jorge Villalta (BS CIVE, 2007) is a Civil Engineer who currently works as a Project Director with Entech Civil Engineers working on both local and statewide projects for various public agencies including TxDOT, COH, HCTRA and Harris County. He started his career in the Civil Engineering field as a CAD Technician in 1999 and worked full-time and attend the University of Houston part-time. He has been married for 19 years and has 3 children. The biggest takeaway he has from his experience at UH is to never giving up. Working full-time and attending school part-time can be very difficult on your work life balance, but it can be done and it’s all worth it at the end. He has served on the UHEAA Board for over 11 years, having served as Engineers week chair for several years, current member of the scholarship committee among multiple other roles, including serving as President. In addition to serving on the UHEAA Board since 2012, he has volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo since 2016, the Houston Hispanic Architects & Engineers’ Gala Committee since its inception in 2022, Coached youth soccer for almost 10 years, and Officiates for recreational and high school swim team for 9 years.
