Rizwan Merchant (BS IE, ‘1998) Started his career at Compaq Computer Corporation immediately graduating from college as a facilities coordinator and process optimization engineer. Within six months of employment at Compaq, he moved up to an electrical engineer in the service organization where he trained and managed the engineering portion of the repair partners in the laptop division.  As the Hewlett Packard – Compaq merger was completed in 2002, he took a role in the printer division where he managed the world-wide engineering activities performed by the repair partners for LaserJet printers.  His primary function was to train engineers and technicians on new products being serviced at these repair facilities.  In 2007 he moved to the server division as a project manager where he managed engineering issues for high profile customers like Facebook, Intel, Microsoft, and Apple.  In 2012, he moved into the service group where he managed engineering design issues for commercial desktop and workstation products.  In 2013, he began to look at real estate as a possible career move and started investing in single family homes.  By 2017, he decided to grow his company full time and manage a portfolio of properties. He currently owns a real estate firm that manages about 24 homes and is a partner/investor in 3 multifamily (apartment) complexes.
