Board Member
Meet Juan Davila, a dedicated professional and active contributor to the University of Houston community. With a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (Class of 2019), Juan currently serves as the Vice-President of the Engineering/Technology Alumni Association (EAA/TAA) for the 2023–2024 term. In addition, he proudly serves as a Board Member of the UH Hispanic Alumni Association.
With over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry and eight years in industrial construction, Juan has worn various hats, including Project Engineering, Project Management, Global Product Line Management, and Project Controls Specialist roles. He has lent his expertise to both industry giants like Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, NOV, as well as smaller firms such as Trendsetter Engineering, Gilbane, and Bartlet Cocke. Notably, his innovative work in the drilling, production, and subsea realms earned him a US patent (US9322228B2) for a Centralizer Connector.
Beyond his professional achievements, Juan is deeply committed to nurturing the future of the engineering and technology field. He leverages his extensive industry knowledge to mentor newcomers and guide students pursuing careers in these fields.
Juan's dedication to the University of Houston extends beyond his professional endeavors. Since 2019, he has served as a steadfast Board member for the Engineering/Technology Alumni Association and the Hispanic Alumni Association. His commitment shines through his active involvement in raising scholarships for current and prospective students.
When not cheering on the University of Houston's football and basketball teams as a loyal season ticket holder for a decade, Juan is an active member of Christ the Redeemer church in Cypress, Texas. There, he serves as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister, Parish Pastoral Council Member, and Religious Education Minister, alongside his wife, Carolina.
