Criteria for Masters Competitive Scholarships

Departments and the College of Engineering, based on the availability of funds, awards $1,000 competitive recruitment scholarships. These scholarships allow in-state tuition. The criteria used for awarding these scholarships are given below:

Criteria Used for Awarding Competitive Scholarships

  • Academic record in undergraduate program, the quality of the undergraduate program, the reputation of the academic institution and any previous other academic experience
  • Graduate record examination results
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Job experience
  • Publications
  • Research Interests and research statements
  • Research Experience
  • Journal Publications
  • Poster and oral presentation record/evidence

The competitive scholarship can be renewed for a second year for those students with a Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher based on the availability of funds.
