Adrian Villarreal — Director of Communications
TechnipFMC

Adrian Villarreal is a U.S. Navy veteran and Knowledge Management Program Manager at TechnipFMC, where he has built a distinguished career that began in March 1997 when the company was FMC Technologies. His early years as a mechanical designer and drafter laid a strong foundation in product knowledge and global collaboration, which continue to fuel his success in knowledge management today.

Adrian’s leadership journey began aboard the USS Philippine Sea (CG-58), where he served as a Boatswain’s Mate Third Class. During his military service, he led deck operations, traveled the world, and experienced diverse cultures—developing discipline, teamwork, and resilience that continue to shape his professional approach.

At TechnipFMC, Adrian leads Facilitated Collaboration, an internal offering that supports virtual brainstorming workshops using online facilitation tools. He also liaises with over 50 communities of practice, helping teams across the organization foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and problem solving. His creativity, once applied to product design, now drives collaborative solutions and strategic engagement across the enterprise in ways he never imagined.

A proud graduate of the University of Houston’s College of Technology, Adrian earned his B.S. in Organizational Leadership & Supervision in 2016. His academic journey helped him transition from engineering design to knowledge management, where he now serves as an internal consultant and speaker at global conferences including KMWorld and APQC.

Following the merger of the UH College of Technology into the Cullen College of Engineering, Adrian now serves on the Engineering Alumni Association (EAA) board, focusing on social media, communications, and student outreach. He also holds board positions in two Employee Resource Groups—¡PODER! and VALOR—supporting cultural awareness and veteran engagement.

Outside of work, Adrian helps lead children’s ministry with his family at Champions Church in Houston.
