Sebastian Hernandez, P.E. (BS CIVE, 2014) is a Civil Engineer who currently works as a Project Manager with Entech Civil Engineers working on both local and statewide projects for various public agencies including TxDOT and Harris County. Sebastian was born in Colombia and his family emigrated to the United States when he was 6 years old. He’s always been driven to excel on both a professional and personal level, in great part thanks to the support and motivation received from his parents, Gustavo and Clara. Last year, he got married and has enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing life as a newlywed with his better half Kadie. The impact that attending the University of Houston has had on Sebastian’s life is immeasurable. Having served as the student chapter President for UH ASCE, this opened many doors, including an invitation to serve as the 1st Student Liaison for UHEAA and creating many lifelong friendships. To this day, Sebastian is a UH football season ticket holder and regularly attends both football and basketball games on campus. He is proud to be a UH Alumni and to have served on the UHEAA Board for over 9 years, having served in multiple roles, including serving as President. In addition to serving on the UHEAA Board, Sebastian has volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo since 2017, the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Student Symposium competitions as a judge since 2018, the Houston Hispanic Architects & Engineers’ Gala Committee since its inception in 2022 and Texas Society of Professional Engineers’ MathCounts competition in 2023.
