Deadlines for submitting a request to change your major are as follows:
- Summer: April 1
- Fall: July 1
- Spring: November 1
Our office will review requests at the end of the semester. If your petition was filed on or before the deadline, you can expect a response sent to your UH email within 2-3 weeks after your most recent grades have posted. Requests received in the Engineering Undergraduate Program’s office will be reviewed with 1 of 4 following outcomes:

Approved
Requirements met for engineering. -
Hold for grades
A decision could not be made for the term you filed your request. Our office will now hold your petition for another term while you complete recommended course(s). -
Application is premature — Disapproved
You have not completed required coursework needed for engineering. Re-file your request once the required coursework has been completed. -
Disapproved
You did not meet requirements for engineering. (If you have any questions or concerns, please contact an academic advisor in the Undergraduate Programs' office).
