PHOTOS: 10th Annual GRC/CDC

The annual ECE Graduate Research and Senior Capstone Design Conference was held April 25 at the UH Hilton for the 10th year in a row. The event provides a platform for undergraduate seniors and graduate students to present their research and capstone projects to an audience and compete for  top honors among their peers.

The following Cullen College students were awarded for their outstanding presentations:

Urvish Medh award for best overall GRC presentation: Yifei Li
SEL award for best GRC oral presentation: Chih-Hao Liu
ECE award for outstanding GRC poster presentation: Ji QI  
Schlumberger Capstone Design award (team): Ryan Murphy, Ramiro Lozano, Jesus Tamez Duque and Rebeca Cobian
Agilent Capstone Design award (team): Richard Allen Hooks, Emin Elmar Mamedow, Cemil Toygan Ozyalcin and Jonathan Silva 
ECE Capstone Design award (team): Anthony Eshareturi, Gavin Guy, Karen Jordan and Andres Michel

The six-year graduation rate for the Cullen College of Engineering is 71.2 percent for students that began in Fall 2014, the fourth year in a row it has increased.

The Cullen College of Engineering has set a new record for its six-year graduation rate, hitting a mark of 71.2 percent for students that began in Fall 2014, according to new information released by the department's Division of Undergraduate Programs and Student Success.

The research of University of Houston assistant professor Dr. Rose Faghih has been recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' Women in Engineering Magazine, with a feature in its June issue.

The article, “Women to Watch – The New Face of Engineering: Faghih Is Applying Her Research to Make an Impact on People's Lives,” is available on the IEEE Xplore website.
