Science is, no doubt, the work of accurately describing what is. But it is the work of engineers to determine what might be. That fact underscores the history of our 60 year journey from having no engineering program to having a very strong program indeed at UH. We have done so by keeping education simultaneously rooted in the sciences and in the engineering community of a burgeoning city.
