UH Researchers Begin Carbon Capture Project with Oil India

Ganesh Thakur, director of Energy Industrial Partnerships and Distinguished Professor of Petroleum Engineering at UH, is leading a project to demonstrate using carbon dioxide to enhance oil recovery in partnership with Oil India Ltd.

Researchers from the University of Houston have begun a $1.4 million project to demonstrate using carbon dioxide captured from nearby petrochemical plants to boost oil recovery in a field in the Indian state of Assam, a project which will help to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
