EAA Scholarships

The Engineering Alumni Association (EAA) offers several scholarships to University of Houston students who are majoring in Engineering. Each scholarship is a one-time award to assist with tuition and fees.

The following scholarships are supported by EAA:  

  • EAA Outstanding Engineering Student Scholarship - $2000 ($1,000 per semester)
    • Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester of award, citizen or permanent resident
    • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0 
    • Junior or Senior classification
    • Well-rounded student
    • Outstanding contributions in engineering-related activities (on/off campus)
    • Outstanding leadership in UH student engineering societies
  • EAA Future Engineer Scholarship - $2000 ($1,000 per semester)
    • Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester of award, citizen or permanent resident
    • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0 
    • Any classification (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Post Baccalaureate pursuing BS)
    • Active involvement in UH student engineering societies
    • Community involvement

The Engineering Alumni Association will provide at a minimum of $6000 total in scholarships for the Fall 2016-Spring 2017 academic year.  Hence, at a minimum of three students total will receive one of the two scholarships shown above.

Eligibility

The applicant must be declared as an engineering major at the University of Houston when applying and also the semesters of the award.  The scholarships are open to current Cullen College of Engineering students, and the specific criteria are shown above.  Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the USA.

Application Deadline

The EAA Scholarship Application must be submitted via email to EAA Scholarship Chair Jamie Imhoff, eaascholarship [at] gmail [dot] com by March 31, 2016.
