Houston civil engineer and UH Cullen College of Engineering alumnus D. Wayne Klotz (MSCE ’76) was named the keynote speaker for the college’s fall 2019 commencement on Friday, December 13. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1974 and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Cullen College in 1976.

UH Cullen College of Engineering faculty and students celebrated the Association of Space Explorers (ASE) Symposium Community day on Wednesday, October 16.

The day-long event featured discussions and class visits with astronauts, who shared their passions for space exploration, and described the opportunities and challenges of returning to the Moon and traveling on to Mars.

They bring expertise in a wide variety of fields ranging from neuroscience to data science and machine learning. Their research covers topics ranging from innovations in bioengineering to sustainability of energy systems.

The University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering celebrated the graduation of more than 600 engineers on Thursday, May 9 at the Fertitta Center.

The proud graduates earned: 427 bachelor’s degrees, 141 master’s degrees and 45 doctorate degrees.

The keynote address was delivered by Chang Oh Turkmani, managing director at the Mega Company and a member of the Engineering Leadership Board (ELB).

The UH Cullen College of Engineering hosted its 30th annual Offshore Industry Crawfish Boil on Sunday, May 5 at Lynn Eusan Park.

Thousands of alumni, faculty, students and industry leaders gathered to network and mingle as they enjoyed crawfish, bbq, beer, drinks and live music.

Since its inception, the annual spring event has raised over $1 million to benefit engineering scholarship and academic programs.

The 30th Annual UH Engineering Golf Tournament, sponsored by Flowco Production Solutions, teed off at BlackHorse Golf Club on Monday, April 22nd in Cypress, TX.

This annual spring event serves as one of the primary annual fundraisers for Cullen College and attracted over 100 golfers to help raise money in support of the Cullen College of Engineering scholarships and academic programs.
