The Cullen College of Engineering is mourning the passing of Tammy Jo (Anderson) Engelbosch, a long-time staff member of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department.

Engelsbosch passed away on Sept. 22 after a battle against advanced cancer. She passed peacefully in the presence of her sister and brother-in-law, and her mother and stepdad by her side.

A 26-year employee of the University of Houston and the Cullen College of Engineering, Engelbosch worked as a financial assistant and a payroll coordinator. She took great value in her work and she was a beloved member of the Cougar family.

Engelsbosch is a native of La Marque, where she was crowned homecoming queen as a senior at La Marque High School. She liked quiet weekends at home with her Pomeranians, watching movies, playing video games, and she very rarely missed an Astros game.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Mary Ann Doore, and stepdad George Doore; her next younger sister, Dianna (Nanna) Lynn Anderson Fleming, and nieces Christina and Lindsay (husband Nick); her youngest sister, Katherine Ann Anderson Cooper, and brother-in-law, Henry George (H.G.) Cooper, and nephews Hank Jr. (wife Aly), Ryan, and Chance, also step-sisters Marilynn T. Doore and Marianne H. Doore Foster and families, and many other family members and friends whose lives she touched. Tammy is preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Joe Anderson, her daughter Tanya Gayle Pless, and her husband Rick Engelbosch.

A ceremony is being planned to celebrate her life with friends and family. Information will be shared by her family on Facebook.
