New UH/HCC Engineering Academy Steps Into The Spotlight

The UH/HCC Engineering Academy at Katy is a unique educational partnership between UH and HCC.

Over 100 individuals joined representatives from the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering and Houston Community College last Thursday, Feb. 20, for the first official UH/HCC Engineering Academy Information Session. The event was held at the new UH at Katy facility, which officially opened in August 2019.

UH at Katy to Offer Three New Engineering Degrees

In a significant move to expand higher educational offerings across the Houston region, the University of Houston has received approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to offer three new undergraduate engineering degrees in Katy.

More than 150 guests from the UH Cullen College of Engineering, the University of Houston and the University of Houston-Victoria gathered to celebrate the Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new UH at Katy Academic Building on Monday, October 14.

The University of Houston at Katy currently serves the UH College of Nursing, the UH Cullen College of Engineering and the University of Houston-Victoria. 

Doors opened to students in August 2019.

Engineering Professors Among Those Honored for Faculty Excellence

The University of Houston honors its faculty each year for their teaching, research and service contributions during the annual UH Faculty Excellence Awards ceremony. Held this year on April 20, five Cullen College of Engineering faculty received high honors for excellence in teaching, research and mentoring, while 17 faculty were recognized for years of service.
