In April, representatives of the University of Houston’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) traveled to Dalian Maritime University (DMU) in Dalian, People’s Republic of China, to write and sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will bring what is expected to be a continuous stream of DMU students to CEE’s M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
Continuing a successful 15-year-long partnership, the UH Cullen College’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) has renewed its collaborative agreement with the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in Taipei, Taiwan for another five years.
Roberto Ballarini, Thomas and Laura Hsu Professor and Chairman of the department of civil and environmental engineering at the Cullen College, was invited to deliver a lecture at the Technical University of Vienna this month on strategies for cultivating a multidisciplinary environment in education and research.
The Cullen College’s annual Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Luncheon took place on Tuesday, October 6th at The Hess Club. Attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch, followed by a keynote presentation by Dale A. Rudrick, the Director of Public Works and Engineering for the City of Houston and a 2015 inductee to the Academy of Distinguished Civil and Environmental Engineers.
The Academy of Distinguished Civil and Environmental Engineers (Academy) held its annual Gala and Induction Ceremony on September 10th at the Hess Club. The Academy is dedicated to recognizing outstanding alumni who bring honor to the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) department at the University of Houston and have sustained distinguished contributions to the profession, field, university, or society at large.
