Cullen Honors Program

Cullen Honors Program

A joint endeavor with the Honors College and the Cullen College of Engineering, this program encourages students to take a bold approach to their education by making connections between their courses, exploring the applications of their studies, pursuing undergraduate research and leading in their extracurricular pursuits. Students in the Cullen Honors Program join a cohort that will challenge and support them throughout their four years and post-graduation.

FAQs

Apply and be accepted to a Cullen College major at the University of Houston. Then, apply to the Honors College. Once you have been accepted to both, you are officially in the Cullen Honors Program — no need to do anything else.

Yes! Please follow the Mid-Career Honors Application Process here.

Each course is different and the instructor has full authority to define it, but generally you can expect: collaborative projects, real-world applications of engineering principles, opportunities to stretch your learning further, and cross-disciplinary connections.

In the first two weeks of classes, you will work with your instructor to determine a project or other activity that will qualify for honors credit and then you submit this petition to the Honors College.
