The Engineering Alumni Association (EAA) held its annual gala on Thursday, June 7, celebrating the professional achievements and contributions of UH Cullen College alumni, faculty and students.
More than 250 guests filled the Magnolia ballroom of the Bayou City Events Center, bedecked with elegant décor, UH cougar themed cocktails and champagne colored linens surrounded by fresh flowers and soft lights.
Joseph W. Tedesco, Elizabeth D. Rockwell Dean of the Cullen College, welcomed guests to the event and provided a brief update on the successes of the Cullen College, including the groundbreaking of the new UH Katy campus in May.
UH System Chancellor and President Renu Khator took the stage to echo Dean Tedesco’s remarks about the need to expand the Cullen College into Katy, pledging the support of the UH System to help the Cullen College achieve its goal of becoming a “Top 50” engineering program as defined by U.S. News and World Report.
The proceeds raised from the event help the EAA to provide scholarships to exemplary UH engineering students and further the goals of the alumni association.
