The UH Cullen College of Engineering celebrated excellence in the ranks at its recent faculty and staff meeting. Joseph W. Tedesco, Elizabeth D. Rockwell Dean of the College, handed out numerous awards recognizing faculty, staff and students for their outstanding contributions in teaching, research and service.

Alumni, Professors to be Honored at Alumni Awards Gala

The University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering and the Engineering Alumni Association will honor seven college alumni and professors at its annual awards gala early next month.

The event is scheduled for Friday, June 3, at the Four Season Hotel in downtown Houston. RSVPs are being accepted through May 27.

Each year, the university recognizes excellence in teaching, service, research and scholarship through a variety of awards given to faculty.

Presented during the 32nd Annual University of Houston Faculty Awards Ceremony April 27, five engineering professors were honored for their distinguished contributions to the university.

UH Students Win Regional Chem-E Car Competition

A team of University of Houston chemical engineering students captured first place at the annual Chem-E Car Competition during the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Regional Meeting at Texas A&M University-Kingsville on March 8, beating out teams from four other schools to earn an opportunity to represent the region at the national competition this fall.
