Incoming freshman students who have been accepted to the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering are eligible to apply for Cougar Engineers Freshman Scholarships, which awards up to $3,500 per student each academic year ($1,750 in Fall 2020 and $1,750 in Spring 2021). Eligibility Requirements
Students may submit an application for a Cougar Engineers Class of 2024 Incoming Freshman Scholarship immediately upon being accepted into one of the following majors:
- Biomedical engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Civil engineering
- Computer engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Industrial engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Petroleum engineering
Requirements for Maintaining Your Scholarship
In order to maintain your Cougar Engineers Class of 2024 Incoming Freshman Scholarship you must:
- Complete UH in 4 first year requirements as discussed at your New Student Orientation
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher from amongst the following courses taken at UH: ENGI 1100, ENGI 1331, MATH 1431, MATH 1432, MATH 2433, MATH 1450, MATH 1451, CHEM 1331, CHEM 1332, PHYS 1321, and PHYS 1322
