Cullen College of Engineering staff were among the almost 500 University of Houston volunteers who helped students find their way around campus at the 6th Annual Cougar First Impressions (CFI).

This was the fourth year that engineering had it's own table, which is located between the two engineering buildings.

"Ever since we started manning our own table, it's alleviated traffic in our offices of lost students looking for classrooms or other buildings," said Mary Schulz, CFI engineering table coordinator and academic advising specialist for the Cullen College of Engineering. "Most importantly, it's fun and everyone who volunteers enjoys it. We never have trouble getting staff to volunteer each year."

Sponsored by UH Staff Council, CFI helps make the first two days of the fall semester, Aug. 25 and 26, a little easier for everyone. This year, volunteers stationed at 18 locations across campus serviced over 20,000 students.
