RESEARCH FOCUS AREAS
Advanced Materials and Manufacturing
With its mixture of nationally recognized faculty and state of the art facilities, the Cullen College of Engineering offers a deep focus on fields involving advanced materials and their usage in manufacturing. Included in this portfolio are:
- The Nanosystem Manufacturing Center, which is developing technology like an advanced neutral beam printer and supporting mask-making hardware for a high throughput lithograph in the sub-100 nm regime.
- The multidisciplinary Texas Center for Superconductivity, a research center that connects more than 200 faculty, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scholars and students to discover and improve new materials; advance science and engineering; and transfer breakthroughs in technology to the industrial sector, impacting the emerging HTS electric power community, the medical community and other sectors.
- The Selva Research Group, which has attracted a wide range funding for research on advanced materials processing and device fabrication techniques for energy applications.
