“I joined the Future Faculty Program (FFP) at the University of Houston in fall 2014. The FFP was an excellent opportunity for me to explore my future professional life and to decide whether I am going to pursue my research in academia or industry.
I enjoyed the friendly environment of the FFP class and experienced an interactive course with various group works and individual activities. In this class, we were taught how to go through a transition from the student mode to the faculty member mode. In addition, we learned how to improve our research skills and we were introduced to some teaching skills. The FFP provided me with invaluable insights and helped me continue my professional journey through an academic career.”
