"I have always known that I wanted to pursue a career in academia. However, while working on my Ph.D., the transition from life as a student to an instructor looked challenging as I felt that the roles would suddenly be inverted. The Future Faculty Program is what made this transition smooth by being exposed and prepared to the coming challenges. The lectures were in a friendly environment encouraging discussions between students from different engineering departments, which is enriching. Finally, as part of this program, I had to make a presentation, write a proposal and teach one class for a semester. This was the ultimate experience that bridged the gap between student life and instructor duties. Personally, what I learned from this program made me even more excited about continuing in academia."
