Venkat Selvamanickam, M.D. Anderson Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has found a way to reduce superconductor failures using a Pulsed Laser Deposition tool. The popular thin film deposition instrument will be purchased with an $800,000 grant from the U.S. Office of Naval Research.

UH Students Shine In DOE’s American-Made Carbon Management Competition

GreenHouston, a team of UH students mentored by Cullen College of Engineering Assistant Professor Jian Shi, were recognized for their innovation by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management. Their proposal featured an optimized carbon dioxide transportation pipeline specifically tailored for the Houston area.

Cullen College Honors Five Distinguished Honorees At The 2023 EAA Alumni Awards Gala

The 2023 UH Cullen College of Engineering Alumni Awards Gala was held at the Bayou City Event Center on Thursday, June 8, 2023. The annual event hosted by the Engineering Alumni Association (EAA), celebrated and honored the professional achievements and contributions of college alumni and faculty. The 2023 EAA gala honorees included: Ronald Lohec (BSME ’55), James Ortiz, Ph.D. (’96 ECE), Eric Rodriguez (BSEE ’06), Jerrod Henderson, Ph.D. and Miguel "Micky" Fleischer (MSCE ’75, Ph.D. ’78).
