Two chemical engineers and UH alumni decided to pivot the product strategy of Luminostics, the company they began forming as students in the lab of professor Richard Willson. Luminostics’s goal is to empower consumers with rapid self-diagnostics.

THE FIGHT AGAINST IMPURE HONEY

Richard Willson is the principal investigator on the Honey DNA project, which is aimed at investing cutting-edge forensic science that can quickly and efficiently determine the true origin of honey.

USING SWEAT ON SKIN TO INFER BRAIN STRESS

Rose Faghih is reporting in the journal IEEE Xplore, the first steps toward monitoring brain responses using wearable devices.

A new paper published by Taewoo Lee in Operations Research, examines decision-making preferences using past decision data via a new optimization method.

An interest in a variety of fields led Ramakrishna “Rama” Ponnapati to pursue his graduate research at the University of Houston, and that same drive to excel in multiple fields and to encourage the growth of others has led to his status as one of the members of the inaugural class of the Emerging Leaders Program of the Offshore Technology Conference.
