Michael Ramos graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2000. He began working with Schlumberger straight out of school and had a myriad of different roles while with them, from field services provider, to Market Analyst, to Recruiter, to Senior Instructor.

He closed out his 20-year Oil & Gas career as a Digital Product Owner for global IT projects, delivering online applications to support Workforce Planning and Field Operations.

Also, during that time, he was involved with UH Engineering through the Engineering Alumni Association starting as a Board member in 2010, served as President over 2012 and 2013, and rolled off the board in 2020, but continues to be a Committee Chair of both the Alumni Awards Gala and the EAA Tailgates.

Michael also had a chance to help serve his home engineering discipline by being a member of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Board starting in 2017, and in 2021 he was invited to be a member of the Cullen College of Engineering’s Leadership Board, where he now serves as the chair for the Recruitment committee.

In 2023, Michael started his own business, APEX Financial Management Services where he specializes in analyzing market trends and balancing a mix of portfolios for private, non-institutional clients.

Lastly, he was awarded with the Billie Schneider Volunteer of the Year Award by the University of Houston’s Alumni Association at their 68th Annual Awards Gala in April of 2023.
