Rigzone Spotlights UH Subsea Program, Global Subsea University Alliance

In what seems to be a never-ending stream of attention, Rigzone spotlighted the Cullen College of Engineering’s Subsea Engineering program in an article this week called “UH Takes Subsea Program to New Heights.”

In the feature, Rigzone spoke exclusively with Matthew Franchek, founding director of the subsea program at UH, about the Global Subsea University Alliance, a coalition between UH, Norway’s Bergen University College, Curtin University in Australia, the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, National University of Singapore and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

“We know this is an international business, and we really wanted to make it easier for students to get their subsea education. Also, this [subsea] is a really demanding thing to study. So, we helped create and lead this partnership,” Franchek explained.
