Engineering Leadership Board Member Discusses STEM Gender Disparity

UH Cullen College of Engineering Engineering Leadership Board member Tina Faraca recently sat down with the Houston Business Journal to discuss the gender disparity in the engineering workforce. In a Q&A segment published on January 31, Facara expressed that the lack of female professionals in the industry could be keeping the U.S. from performing at its most competitive level.

Additionally, Faraca said nurturing the STEM education of America’s youngest students and encouraging girls with an interest in STEM fields to pursue those interests can eventually increase the aptitude and equality in the workforce.
