ECE Professor Featured in Methodist Hospital Commercial

ECE professor Jose “Pepe” Luis Contreras-Vidal, director of the University of Houston’s Laboratory for Noninvasive Brain-Machine Interface (BMI) Systems at the Cullen College of Engineering, was featured in a Houston Methodist Hospital commercial demonstrating his brain-controlled robotic exoskeleton which allows paralyzed patients to walk using only the power of their thoughts.

Almost 19,000 new cases of acute myeloid leukemia and 10,500 deaths from the blood and bone marrow cancer could strike Americans this year, according to the American Cancer Society.
