The University of Houston chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is hosting their 29th Annual Career Fair on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the University Center Houston Room.

In addition to speaking directly with company representatives, students majoring in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics and business have access to dozens of companies.

What's new this year is a Career Fair Series that NSBE is offering to students to prepare them for a successful Career Fair day:

  • Interviewing and Dress Attire
Sept. 23 at 7:30pm in the UH University Center's Bluebonnet Room 250
  • How to Work a Career Fair
Sept. 27 at 7:30pm in the UH University Center's Bluebonnet Room 250
  • Corporate Hospitality Suites
Sept. 29 from 6:30-9:30pm in the UH University Center's Meditteranean Room 91

Some of the companies committed this year are posted on the NSBE website, along with more information about the Career Fair.

Companies attending the Career Fair will receive a CD with student resumes. Students can have their resume (Microsoft Word format documents only) included on the CD by emailing it to uhnsbe_resumecd [at] yahoo.com (uhnsbe_resumecd[at]yahoo[dot]com). Title the resume in the following manner: "LastName_FirstName_Major.doc".

NSBE, with 8,000 members nationwide, is one of the largest student-managed organizations in the country. The Society is dedicated to the realization of a better tomorrow through the development of intensive programs for increasing the recruitment, retention and successful graduation of minorities in engineering.
