Cullen College of Engineering Names New Associate Deans, Interim ECE Department Chair, Dean's Office Staff and Office Changes

Engineering Dean Raymond Flumerfelt is pleased to announce the following administrative changes to the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering:

Frank J. "Fritz" Claydon, PhD: Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Computer Facilities
Among his duties, he will be responsible for all undergraduate recruitment and retention programs, college-level advising, summer camps for high school students and teachers, scholarship programs, PROMES and the engineering computing center. Previously, he was the chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the past five years.

Larry Witte, PhD: Associate Dean for Graduate Programs
He will assist the departments in their graduate recruitment efforts and coordinate cross-discipline opportunities to increase graduate students in the college. Previously, he was the associate dean for undergraduate programs.

Haluk Ogmen, PhD: Interim Chair for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
He is a professor in the department and director of the Center for Neuro-Engineering and Cognitive Science.

David Starnes, CFRE: Director of Development
As the chief development officer for the college, he will spearheard the college's major gifts efforts and lead the engineering development team in their efforts.

Julie Trenor, PhD: Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Adjunct Assistant Professor
She will lead all undergraduate recruitment efforts for the college, develop education grants to the college and teach selected freshman-level courses.

Chad Wilson, PhD: Director of Technical Communication Instruction
He is a participant in the newly established engineering communications across the curriculum program. He will emphasize technical writing and presentation skills.
