Achieving and maintaining academic excellence at the UH Cullen College of Engineering is serious business. The admission standards for entering the Cullen College are very high – but the hard work doesn’t end once you’re admitted. It takes a great deal of hard work, studying and perseverance to make it through to graduation.

Luckily, your engineering classes will be small, averaging 22 students per class, and teaching assistants or graduate students rarely teach engineering courses. Most engineering courses are taught by full-time faculty members, even at the freshman level.

The Cullen College offers eight undergraduate majors: biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and petroleum engineering.

It’s not an easy road, but it’s a worthwhile one.

After graduation, career opportunities for engineers are limited only by their imaginations, and there’s no better place than Houston to begin an engineering career.
