Faces in Our Community

I am an undergraduate student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston as part of the Honors College. Currently, I am also a member of the University of Houston Women’s Soccer team and am one of 3 Team Captains. Last year, I was named to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) All-Rookie Team and voted as Newcomer of the Year by my teammates. Over the summer, I was an intern at the UH Biomedical Optics Laboratory and worked with Ph.D. students, under Dr. Kirill Larin, researching innovative methods for tissue functional imaging based on Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Additionally, I am a proud student leader and scholar within the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) and the Program for Mastery in Engineering Studies (PROMES). Additionally, I am an inducted member of the National Society of Leadership & Success and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
