This fall, the Cullen College of Engineering’s Executive Human Resource Development (EHRD) program is launching two new Human Resource Development graduate certificates described by professor and program director Consuelo Waight as “an opportunity for participants to come into a learning circle to deconstruct work within context and co-construct solutions that make sense for their organizations.”
The graduate certificate in Change Leadership and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy for Human Resource Professionals certificate are both embedded in the Executive Human Resource Development program, which allows them to function under a work-as-classroom design — everything that students accomplish in these courses will be based on data and needs from their employers, and will result in real-life, actionable knowledge and projects.
“In these certificates, participants, using reflexivity and reflection, will explore their work and its layers, dissect theories and frameworks, question their application, and experiment in their organizations.” Waight said.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy for Human Resource (HR) Professionals certificate goes beyond AI literacy to offer an immersive, executive-level learning experience in which faculty and participants co-create to cultivate diagnostic and generative capabilities towards designing AI strategy. This certificate is designed for those who want to think differently about strategy creation and create conditions for lasting organizational effectiveness.
People-leaders and HR professionals at all levels will gain AI literacy, reflective and reflexive skills, and tools to co-create AI strategy while incorporating current organizational challenges to become core to the curriculum experience.
The Graduate Certificate in Change Leadership transcends traditional change management to offer an immersive, executive-level mindset in which participants and faculty co-create to reframe mindsets and cultivate the diagnostic and generative capabilities required to interpret complex challenges and drive meaningful, sustainable organizational change. This certificate caters to those who want to think differently about change and lead with greater clarity in uncertainty.
Organization development and transformation professionals, leaders responsible for strategic change of any kind, and people-leaders at all levels will gain frameworks for leading change under uncertainty, advanced interpretation skills, and tools to design and apply generative change strategies while incorporating current organizational challenges into the core of the curriculum.
“I am excited to co-create with professionals as we make sense of their work, its context, and the related opportunities and challenges,” Waight said.
