Simple Math Introduction for Big Data Analysis and Machine Learning
Speaker: Dr. Zhu Han, John and Rebecca Moores Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cullen College of Engineering
Date: Wednesday, May 5, 2021
Time: 12:00 p.m. CST
Hosted on Zoom
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering is proud to announce our lunch and learn seminar for May 2021 hosted by Dr. Zhu Han as he discusses big data analysis. This talk tries to make sense of big data in engineering applications using tools and techniques from signal processing. Specifically, sampling, optimization, game theory and machine learning are discussed with examples with practical applications. This talk targets for researchers and practicing engineers wanting to solve practical problems involving large amounts of data, and for students looking to grasp the fundamentals of big data analytics.
We invite you to join Dr. Han’s talk virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM CST. The event is free and open to all faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Electrical & Computer Engineering. Registration is required, and will close at 9:00 am CST on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Log-in credentials will be emailed to all registrants prior to the event.
