Yashashree Kulkarni and Roberto Ballarini have been elected to the Fellow grade of membership for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Only about 3,000 members of ASME are Fellows, out of a total membership of about 75,000.

The BRAIN Center is entering into Phase 2 of a funded grant by the NSF with an additional $758,331, plus another $2 million from industry partners. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has also bestowed a workforce development grant for $768,135 for the center.

MANIPULATION OF COACERVATE DROPLETS WITH AN ELECTRIC FIELD

New work led by Alamgir Karim and a team of researchers shows a simple pathway for stabilizing polyelectrolyte coacervate droplets that do not coalesce or deform under an electric field. The study was recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).
