Announcing “PROMES PLUS”: A New Program for Incoming PROMES Freshmen
PROMES PLUS is open to all PROMES students entering as freshmen in fall 2009 who are willing to make a strong commitment to their own success. We seek students who truly want to make the most of their college academic experience, strive for excellence, and position themselves well for future scholarships, internships, co-ops, and ultimately placement in the workforce or graduate/professional programs.
PROMES PLUS Scholars must be incoming freshmen and must agree to fulfill the following:
- Attend a weekly meeting with PROMES mentors each Friday from 2:30 PM to 4 PM
- Maintain a detailed weekly schedule in accordance with PROMES guidelines and the tenets of the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System
- Follow the Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System in each academic class. This includes doing Bullet Point Reading in advance of each lecture, preparing Bullet Point Notes from study and lecture notes, reviewing Bullet Point Concepts after each homework and exam, and visiting course professors on a regular basis.
What do you get in return?
- Personal mentoring and direction to keep you on course for success
- Preferential access to scholarships, internships, and PROMES staff and alumni who can help you grow your professional network
- Preferential access to the Industrial Scholars Intern Program (ISIP).
Are you ready to invest in your future and take charge of your success? Download the PROMES PLUS application and turn it in to the PROMES office (either E301-D3 or N369-D) as soon as possible, but NO LATER THAN the Official Class Reporting Day for fall 2008, which is September 8, 2008.
