ENGINEERING ALUMNI ASSOCIATION NEWS...

Approximately 200 engineering alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends came out to EAA’s annual Homecoming tailgate party Nov. 9 to eat barbecue and reunite with old classmates. Even the children were entertained for hours in the Moonwalk. During the live auction, Bill & Pam Fendley once again won the Four Seasons Suite, perhaps unofficially renaming it the “Fendley Suite.” A special thank to following sponsors that contributed to the raffle and auction: Four Seasons Hotel, Radoil, Inc., Klotz Associates Inc., Lockwood, Andrews, Newnam, Inc., ABB Vetco Gray and Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc.

The Homecoming tailgate was also a gathering of great minds. EAA past presidents Bill Fendley, Leo Garcia, Mike Lacy, Mark Loethen, Ray Scheliga, Jim Sikes and Tom Sofka made plans to create a formal EAA Past Presidents Advisory Board.

For its active involvement this year, EAA received HAO’s 2002 Red Banner Year Award at its Annual Meeting on Nov. 9. This was the fourth year that EAA has won this prestigious award. Visit the Engineering Alumni Association online at http://www.egr.uh.edu/alumni

Get involved with your Engineering Alumni Association today! Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with a variety of activities. For more information or to get involved e-mail alumni@egr.uh.edu, or call Michelle Stevenson-Shaw at 713-743-4215.
