(October 3, 2001) The Engineering Alumni Association will host a special Homecoming tailgate party to celebrate the UH Cullen College of Engineering's 60th Anniversary on Saturday, October 20. Play in the volleyball tournament, compete in Armchair Olympics, eat BBQ and enjoy children's games and tailgating.

(October 3, 2001) The UH National Society of Black Engineers' 26th Annual Career Fair brought together 39 companies and over 700 students Sept. 26. The fair was followed by the college's Beginning of Semester Party.

(September 26, 2001) The UH Campus Recruitment Salary Survey shows that recent UH alumni offers ranked higher in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical and MS/mechanical engineering compared to the mean of comparative data.

(September 24, 2001) Under the direction of UH chemical engineering professor Kishore Mohanty, the special challenges confronting oil producers working in the Arctic will be the focus of a new research project funded through the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory. UH will receive nearly $600,000 in federal funding for a three-year effort.

(September 21, 2001) Devotion to students and excellent teaching evaluations are some of the reasons Keith Hollingsworth, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, is receiving the El Paso Energy Teaching Excellence Award in Engineering.

(September 13, 2001) UH engineering professor Guanrong "Ron" Chen and alumnus James N. Ortiz have been selected to receive the M. Barry Carlton Award from the IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society.
