NEW MASTER'S DEGREE IN PROJECT & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
The UH Cullen College of Engineering has launched a new Master's Degree Program in Project and Construction Management (PCM). The program, which began with two new classes this semester, is designed to position students to meet emerging needs in two major industries, says Cumaraswamy Vipulandandan, chairman of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. LIENHARD'S NEW BOOK EARNS HIM AUTHOR OF THE MONTH
John Lienhard, M.D. Anderson Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering and History at UH, has just published his latest book that celebrates the inventive energy that made early 20th-century America modern. Just as "Inventing Modern: Growing up with X-Rays, Skyscrapers, and Tailfins" hits the newsstands, Lienhard was named September Author of the Month at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Town and Country Village. HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER RECEIVES TRAINING IN WATER FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY
While most of his peers took the summer off, high school teacher Steven Statt spent his summer at the UH Cullen College of Engineering, where he learned about drinking water filtration from one of the country's leading experts, Environmental Engineering Professor Shankar Chellam. EAA PAST PRESIDENTS TO RAISE $15,000 FOR PAVILION
A new partnership of 17 former presidents of the Engineering Alumni Association is raising $15,000 to build a pavilion on the Cullen College of Engineering’s designated slab of concrete outside the Northwest entrance of Robertson Stadium. Full story...
