UH Engineer Stanley Kleis Receives Public Service Award from NASA
Stanley Kleis, associate professor of mechanical engineering at the UH Cullen College of Engineering, received one of NASA’s highest honors, the Public Service Medal, at a NASA Honor Awards Ceremony at Johnson Space Center. The award recognizes exceptional contributions to the mission of NASA by those who are not government employees. Pictured is William F. Readdy pinning Stanley Kleis with the Public Service Medal.

UH Alumnus Flourishes in Engineering Practice, Navy, Air Force for Three Decades
UH Civil Engineering Alumnus C. Rick Coneway (1973 BSCE, 1976 MSCE) always wanted to fly. After receiving his first bachelor’s degree, the native Houstonian joined the U.S. Navy and used that time to launch a now 31-year dual career in the U.S. Navy and Air Force, and in engineering.

Sen. Hutchison, Rep. Culberson Announce NanoHealth Funding
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) and Rep. John Culberson (R-Houston) were on campus Aug. 18 to announce federal funding for the new Alliance for NanoHealth, of which the University of Houston is a founding member.
