The UH Cullen College of Engineering will host a drainage, engineering and technical forum (Drainage Forum: The Allison Experience) on Friday, Sept. 14 from 8:30am-3:30pm at the UH Hilton Hotel to review the history of flooding in Houston and the Gulf Coast area, rainfall distribution from Tropical Storm Allison, performance of the major bayous and future flood control programs. "Monuments, Mills and Missile Sites: 30 Years of the HAER," a Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) traveling exhibit, is on display at UH through Oct. 10, 2001, in the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture.

(August 24, 2001) UH engineering alumna and adjunct professor Bonnie Dunbar (1983 PhD) will deliver the Fall 2001 Convocation address for the UH Honors College. She is a NASA Astronaut and assistant director of the
Johnson Space Center.
