EAA ANNOUNCES 2003 DISTINGUISHED ENGINEERING AWARDS
Jesse Gonzalez and Monmohan Kalsi will receive the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award at the 2003 Awards Dinner on Friday, June 6 at the Four Seasons Hotel. Siddika Demir will receive the young alumna award, Raymond Scheliga will receive the service award, and Osman Ghazzaly will receive the faculty award. The keynote speaker for the evening will be Astronaut and Distinguished Alumna Bonnie Dunbar. Full story... (and to see/download the invitation before they're mailed)

E-BLOCK TICKET RESERVATION DEADLINE: MAY 19
Enjoy Cougar Football with UH engineering alumni and friends. E-Block tickets include all six home games and tailgating fun: Aug. 30 (Rice @ 7pm), Sept. 20 (Miss St @ 7pm), Oct. 18 (Memphis @ 7pm), Oct. 25 (TCU @ 7pm), Nov. 8 (Southern Miss @ 4pm), and Nov. 29 (UAB @ 4pm). To reserve your season tickets in E-Block, fill out the E-Block form (pdf file). Deadline to reserve tickets has been extended to Monday, May 19. EAA tailgating starts 2 hours before each game.

HAO OUTSTANDING FACULTY & STAFF AWARD NOMINATIONS
Is there a current UH faculty or staff who has positively impacted your life and deserves to be recognized? The Houston Alumni Organization is currently accepting nominations for the Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards -- winners receive a $1,000 award. Deadline: Friday, MAY 16. Criteria and nomination forms.

PROFESSOR NAMED FELLOW BY ENGINEERING EDUCATION SOCIETY
(May 14, 2003) UH Electrical Engineering Professor Gerhard Paskusz, founder and director of the college's highly successful Program for Mastery in Engineering Studies, will be recognized as a new Fellow Member of the American Society for Engineering Education at the organization's national conference in Nashville this June.
