(April 4, 2002) Frank Adamek and Dennis Peterson will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award and Kathy Rhodes will receive the Service Award at the Engineering Alumni Association's Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards Dinner on Friday, June 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel. The keynote speaker will be Senator Rodney Ellis.

(April 3, 2002) Five UH robotics teams will race their robots through a maze in the Commons area in Engineering Building 1 at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5 to determine which two teams will compete in the 2002 Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Region 5 Robotics Competition on April 20 at the NASA Hilton.

(March 27, 2002) Electrical engineering professor John Glover has won a $600,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study epileptic seizures in newborn babies over the next four years. The research will take place in collaboration with researchers at the Baylor College of Medicine and The Methodist Hospital.
