(February 11, 2002) This is not an April Fools joke and the 13th isn't an unlucky number for the annual golf tournament that sells out each year! On April 1, the Engineering Golf Tournament will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the UH Cullen College of Engineering.

(February 8, 2002) Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Shankar Chellam's dedication to solving the worldwide issue of water decontamination has been rewarded with a research grant and CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.

(February 8, 2002) The Shell Oil Foundation has awarded three departmental grants to UH Cullen College of Engineering to strengthen activities in well-developed areas of teaching and research.

UH engineering alumnus Durga Agrawal (1969 MSIE, 1974 PhD IE) was featured as the alumni profile in the Winter 2001 Issue of Houston Alumline.

How does a wine become exceptional? Simple answer-engineering. Just ask Raymond Haak (1969 BSEE), owner and award-winning winemaker in Santa Fe, Texas. To him, winemaking is the merging of science and math with the creative arts.
