HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
A toll-free hotline to answer state-wide college admissions questions like the admission process, financial aid, scholarships and SAT/ACT will be available from 10am-6pm Jan. 18-19 at 1-877-275-7007. Two $500 scholarships will also be awarded. The hotline will be facilitated by the Texas Association of College Admission Counselors. For details, contact Dawnelle Prince at 713-743-4221.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MATHCOUNTS - FEB. 1
Volunteers are needed to help grade for MathCounts, a national test of middle school "mathletes." Grade math tests from some of the brightest middle school students in the city and help serve lunch. MathCounts is Feb. 1. For details or to volunteer, contact Michelle Stevenson-Shaw at 713-743-4215.

HELP UH HAVE A VOICE IN AUSTIN - FEB. 18
Give UH a strong voice by joining the Houston Alumni Organization on the bus trip to Austin for UH Day in Austin. Meet at 7am at the UH Athletics/Alumni Center and learn everything you need to know to talk to legislators about UH issues. After hitting the Senate Chambers and meeting with legislators (you'll be with a team of other UH alumni), there will be a reception that evening to celebrate the success. Buses will arrive back at UH around 10:30pm. For details or to sign-up, visit the Cougar Advocates for Texas website.
