Professional Experience

Research Interests

Dr. Lim's research interests are in Optimization, Operations Research Applications in Health Systems, Statistical Process Control, and Evacuation Planning and Management. He has a keen interest in developing optimization techniques (LP, MIP, NLP, and Stochastic Programming) to solving large scale decision making problems in such areas as medicine, biology, and transportation networks. His current research projects include Radiation Treatment Planning optimization, Markov Decision Process Approaches for Transportation Problems, and Optimization in Process Control for start-ups in manufacturing. His research projects are funded by SERRI-ORNL, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the University of Houston, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Varian Medical Systems, Inc.
