Dr. Williams received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona in 1981, 1984, and 1987 respectively. He was a Schlumberger-Doll Research Fellow at the University of Arizona where he conducted research in transient electromagnetic scattering and natural resonance identification, as related to the probfelm of system identification. In addition, his research included the design and characterization of microwave antennas for borehole dielectric measurements, the experimental study of microwave antenna arrays for borehole dielectric imagery, and the study of vertical well casings on ground base geophysical measurements, including the effects of well case corrosion. Dr. Williams joined the department in 1987. |
