Wei-Chuan Shih received B.S. from National Taiwan University, M.S. from National Chiao Tung University, and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His Ph.D. research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Michael S. Feld at the MIT GR Harrison Spectroscopy Laboratory, in Biophotonics, and Profs. Barbastathis and Kim, in Optical N/MEMS. Prior to joining the University of Houston, he was a Schlumberger Postdoctoral Fellow. He was selected as an MIT Martin Fellow for Sustainability in 2004.
