C. Richard Liu received his B.S., M.S., and Ph. D. degrees in electrical engineering from Jiaotong University, Xian, China, in 1982, 1984, and 1988, respectively. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Houston in 1988 as a post doctoral research associate. He is now the director of the Well Logging Lab and the Subsurface Sensing Lab.
